Govt asked to promote tourism in Jammu

JAMMU, July 2: Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal (JPVM) and All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association (AJHLA) have stressed upon the Government as well as Tourism Department for promotion of Jammu tourism.
Hailing the well designed security cover and administration for a good start of Shri Amarnath Ji Yarta 2017, Inderjeet Khajuria, chairman JPVM and Pawan Gupta, president AJHLA, expressed satisfaction over the good pace of Amarnathji Yatra progressing nicely as more than 30000 yatries have paid obeisance at sanctum sanctorum just within 3 days.
In a joint statement, they said that good start of  Yatra with fool-proof security and satisfactory administration will definitely tell upon the influx of yatries, which is going to increase in numbers with each passing day. They further added that in view of increase in yatries the current registration is expected in large number for which sufficient arrangements are required to be made for the facilities of the yatries.
In order to promote Jammu tourism, they stressed on the wide publicity of the historical and religious places in and around Jammu, which was always ignored. They said as Jammu is a militancy-free zone and full of attractive tourism places with aesthetic value, it can prove a substitute to Kashmir, as the Valley is on fire since long due to militancy.
