Govt advises deptts to use hand-made paper folders

JAMMU, Apr 21: Govern-ment today advised all the departments to give preference to hand-made paper folders and other stationery items for use in the meetings, workshops and office work.
In a circular issued today, Government said with a view to encourage the use of hand-made paper folders and other stationery items, which are environment friendly, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Khadi & Village Industries Commission has strongly advised to do away with plastic folders, stating that plastic is non-boidegradable substance and its improper disposal causes many problems.
“Hand-made paper has been globally acclaimed as eco-friendly for its non-toxic biodegradable properties. Hand-made paper folders, which are more durable and aesthetic in look, can replace the plastic folders, which are conventionally used for meetings and workshops”, the circular reads.
The circular said accordingly all the departments are advised to give preference to hand-made paper folders and other stationery items for use in the meetings, workshops and office work.
