JAMMU: A National Conference delegation, led by its General Secretary Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation apprised the Governor, interalia, about their concerns relating to: the doubtful process being followed to delimit Wards and the Panchayats prior to the forthcoming elections; civilian casualties during operations carried out by the Security Forces; problems which people are facing due to the State Government’s policy to link the supply of rations to the Aadhar number of the beneficiary when the majority of the ration card holders are still to receive the Aadhar registration cards.
While informing the delegation that their concerns would be taken up with the State Government the Governor urged the NC leaders to individually and collectively take all possible initiatives which would result in reducing alienation of the youth and also appealed to them to continue their endeavours for promoting peace and normalcy in the State.
Among others the delegation comprised former Ministers, sitting and former legislators and Mr. Devender Singh Rana and Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Provincial Presidents of Jammu and Kashmir regions, respectively.
