JAMMU, May 10: Gou Gopal Paryavaran Sammelan (environmental conference) is being organized at Seri Panditan (Chhanni) near Ambh Garhota in Bhalwal from May 12 to 16.
The conference is being organized by Shree Dwarika Nath Shastri Ji Service Trust Sohanjana Jammu. Gangadhar Ji, noted saint and chairperson, of the Trust told reporters here today.
He said the venue where the programme is being organized happens to be the place of worship of Shree Dwarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj, a spiritual saint of the State whose religious discourses and sermons enlightened the masses.
Gangadhar Ji informed that the Paryavaran Sammelan is based on the theme of one of Shree Maharaj Ji’s last sermons in which he stressed on worship of mother-nature.
He said as Maharaj Ji himself was very fond of nature and used to explain its value in his religious discourses hence a first of its kind Gou Gopal Paryavaran Sammelan will be held in Jammu at the same venue.
He said the renowned Sanskrit scholars and revered saints from within and outside of the State are taking part in the Sammelan and will throw light on the significance and importance of mother -nature.
Swami Ji said the daily programme has been divided into two time slots from 2 pm to 5 pm and 8 pm to 11 pm. The spiritual discourses and recitation of Vedic hymns will energize the atmosphere which will help in protection of environment as well as creating positive change in the minds of the people all around, he added.
Swami Ji invited people from all walks of life to participate in the conference.
