Goswami reviews pace of works at Pouni

REASI, Feb 2: In order to review ground situation and the pace of execution of works taken after the September 2014 floods in Reasi district Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami visited Pouni and its adjoining areas today.
Anil Goswami chaired a meeting of locals, members of Panchayati Raj Institutions from various villages of Pouni and all district Officers, to review the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction works as well as to listen to developmental needs of the people.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Shabir Bhatt briefed the Union Secretary about the measures taken by the district administration to provide relief as well as to rehabilitate the people in flood and landslide hit areas of the region.
The local people put forth various demands, which mainly included development of Tourism infrastructure and other facilities at Shiv Khori, bad condition of roads connecting many interior villages including Ransoo-base camp of the Shiv Khori Cave Shrine, inadequate health facilities, and few schools for girl students and lack of natural resources exploration in the region.
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Goswami assured the people that their problems and developmental needs would be projected to the concerned on priority and needful would be done to boost the tourism sector, so that more employment avenues are generated and prosperity is assured in every nook and corner of the region.
Goswami directed the executing agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace on all developmental works being executed under different sectors in the region. He asked them to ensure completion of works in a time bound manner with directions to the administration to activate men and machinery for the purpose, so that the benefits of these accrue to the general public well in time.
