Goldsmith among three arrested in burglary case

DODA, May 1: Police today arrested three persons including a goldsmith were arrested in a burglary case.
As per police sources, while working over a case registered under FIR number 45/15 under Section 457 and 380 RPC, police party from Doda police station arrested a burglar identified as Rafiq Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hassan of Sekwan.
On the basis of his disclosure, one 12 bore rifle with 7 cartridges and a knife were recovered from Shankwal Galla Dhar forest area.
On further questioning, the accused also confessed the selling of stolen gold and silver ornaments to Attaullah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Tramboo of Saw Mohalla Doda. Attaullah was also arrested and he also confessed his involvement in the burglary case.
On the disclosure of Attaullah, stolen property including gold necklace weighing 9.5 grams valuing  Rs 27,000 and silver necklace weighing 50 grams valuing Rs 1900 were recovered from the shop of goldsmith namely Govinder Sharma, son of Hardan Sharma of Calcutta, at present Beoli Doda, running his shop in Mandir Gali Doda. The goldsmith was also arrested.
The group is under further sustained interrogation with the expectation that some more burglaries which had taken place in Doda town or other parts of District will be worked out.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
Police team led by SHO Doda police station Inspector Jaleel Ahmed Kichloo made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Doda ZN Manhas and DySP Headquarters Doda Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed.
