Gold futures up by 0.13% on higher Asian cues

NEW DELHI, Aug 9: Tracking a firm Asian trend, gold prices inched up by 0.13 per cent to Rs 29,649 per 10 grams in futures trading today as speculators raised their bets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in  October edged up by Rs 39, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 29,649 per ten grams in business turnover of 70 lots.
Market analysts said expanding of positions by traders in sync with a firming Asian trend where gold prices rose slightly, after gaining for two straight sessions, supported by a slightly weaker dollar versus the yen, mainly influenced gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold edged up by 0.03 per cent to USD 1,213.90 an ounce in Singapore. (PTI)
