GoI should realize early modification of NFSA:PK

JAMMU, May 22: Panun Kashmir (PK) has reiterated its demand regarding modification in NFSA with regard to its application to the internally displaced personally from Valley.
“We once again impress upon GoI to realise the urgent necessity to modify the NFSA with regard to its application to the internally displaced Hindus of Kashmir particularly its most needy segments receiving cash relief and ration, ” said PK chairman, Dr Ajay Chrungoo in a statement issued here, today.
“GoI needs to understand that those people of India who are below poverty line have two categories, those who are poor in general sense and those who are poor as well as are victims of genocide,” he said while pressing his demand.
He said treating both the categories at par will tentamount to denial of genocide.
“If a policy or a programme meant to unify people and help the poor leads to denial and consolidation of genocide it will be most unfortunate result of an otherwise well meaning measure and programme”.
He said “GoI needs to accept that genocidal processes against Hindus of Kashmir have not abated or stopped,. They continue and in fact have spilled over into Jammu and rest of India”.
He said the poor displaced people living in relief camps in Jammu are poor as well as those who have suffered devastation of religious cleansing. The families are not only recovering from economic distress but also a far deeper distress of genocidal attrition, he added.
“Simply applying the economic criteria to them to assess their stability is unscientific and inhuman”, he said.
Dr Chrungoo said “Prime Minister should look into the situation of denial of genocide of Hindus from Kashmir,. This is critically required particularly when a specter of bigger destabilization by Pakistan is looming large and sudden escalation of terrorism at the behest of Pakistan cannot be ruled out”.
He said any policy that tends to shift focus from genocidal terrorism becomes self defeating.
“NFSA, the way it is being extended to internally displaced Hindus of Kashmir, suffers the danger of becoming the programme of denial of genocide,. It needs a decisive modification if it has to serve the internally displaced Hindus of Kashmir”, the PK chairman said.
