Srinagar, May 1: The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has covered around 60 percent households with functional tap water connection in Jammu and Kashmir since the launch of the flagship programme in J&K.
The JJM Government of India has congratulated the J&K JJM and the Jammu and Kashmir Government for covering 60 percent of households with Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) in a short span of time.
Under the flagship programme, the Jammu and Kashmir Government is providing clean tap water to over 11.23 lakh rural households out of a total 18.67 lakh.
Under the JJM scheme, J&K Government has fixed a target to provide FHTC to around 18.67 lakh rural households in Jammu and Kashmir out of 5.75 (30.81%) lakh rural households found with functional tap water connections as on August 15 of 2019.
Since the launch of JJM in J&K, the Government has been able to cover 5.47 lakh rural households with FHTC under JJM which has increased the number of rural households with functional tap water connections from 5.75 lakh in 2019 to 11.23 lakh (60.13%) till date.
