There are around 1200 such healthcare workers who are working under SRO 384/409 and initially their services were meant for 6 years and later were asked to continue following the court directions.
However, the Paramedics and the Nursing staff allege that the posts which they are occupying were referred to SSRB for recruitment, which the healthcare workers said is being done in violation of the court directives issued in this regard.
“Despite the court directions, the posts were referred to SSRB, the directions were put aside and the process of recruitment was carried out. There are also contempt proceedings going on even as the chairman SSRB was also directed to stop the recruitment which was not done,” Hilal Ahmad Bhat, one of the protestors said.
The protestors said that they have been raising the issue, but no action has been taken so far. “The recruitment process went on even the selection has been declared in the merit and we are expecting the final list to come out anytime soon,” the protestors, adding that the recruits will replace them despite serving for the last more than 12 years
“We are not against it, but what about those who are working on these posts for the last 12 years even as the representations were sent from the GMC along with other communication, however, the issue has not been addressed so far,” the protestors said.
The protestors said that they have been continuously working during turmoil and are still working during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
“We have approached every corner but justice has been denied by the administration; our last hope is the courts of the UT as they have given us relief but their orders have been violated by the concerned departments,” the protestors said.
The healthcare workers appealed to the LG, Manoj Sinha to consider their issue regarding their regularization.
