GMC Jammu organizes National CME on Drug Safety

JAMMU, Sep 19: A National Advance Course/CME on Drug Safety was organized by ADRM Centre, Department of Pharmacology in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
The CME was organized in collaboration with Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, National Coordination Centre, Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, ASCOMS Jammu and Indian Society of Rational Pharamco-Therapeutics (ISRPT).
Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma (Principal GMC Jammu) was the chief patron of the function while Dr Ashutosh Gupta, (HoD Radiation Oncology, GMC Jammu and Nodal Officer of upcoming State Cancer Institute in Jammu) was the chief guest. Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS, was the guest of honour.
HoD Pharmacology, GMC Jammu, Dr Seema Gupta was the organizing chairperson, Prof (Dr) Shabnam Choudhary co- chairperson and Dr Vishal Tandon, Professor Pharmacology and In charge ADRM Centre was the organizing secretary of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ashutosh said that with more than 400 offline and online participation of delegates and faculty of national and international repute in the event, itself is testimonial, that how important and universal is the topic of the today’s CME.
Galaxy of eminent people including Dr Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi (Secretary-cum Scientific Director, IPC, Government of India), Dr YK Gupta (former HoD Pharmacology, AIIMS, New Delhi), Dr HS Reehan (Director, Lady Harding Medical College New Delhi), Dr Sandeep Kaushal (Dean Academics, DMC Ludhiana), Dr Jai Prakash (Officer In Charge National Coordination Centre, Pharmacovigilance Programme of India), Dr Bikash Medhi (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Dr Anil Mahajan (former HoD Medicine, GMC Jammu), Dr Vijay Kundal (HoD Medicine, GMC Jammu) and Dr Brij Mohan Gupta (Principal, GMC Rajouri) participated in the CME.
Dr Nusrat Kareem Bhat (Associate Professor) convened and moderated the question-answer session while Dr Sharminder Kour (Associate Professor) read the work done report of the ADRM Centre of GMC Jammu.
Dr Bhanu Priya and Dr Hanan Sheikh conducted the proceedings whereas Dr Adam Qazi, Dr Amrjeet Singh, Dr Nikhil Menia and Dr Sheeraz Sarwar conducted all the technical sessions of the CME.
