GMC Baramulla performs maxillofacial surgery on assault victim

SRINAGAR, Feb 1: The Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla, announced today that the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery successfully performed surgery on an assault victim covered under the AB-PMJAY.
Officials stated that the patient diagnosed with a displaced mandibular symphyseal fracture with a step defect and a left subcondylar fracture received the procedure.
The hospital reported that a medical team, led by Dr. Nahida Dar under the mentorship of Dr. Zafarullah, the Incharge Head of the Maxillofacial Surgery Department, successfully conducted an open reduction of the fracture and internal fixation using a pure titanium plating system.
“The patient underwent this intricate surgical procedure as part of the Ayushman Bharat scheme,” the hospital said.
The surgical intervention, executed with precision and expertise, involved advanced techniques and the latest medical equipment. The pure titanium plating system employed ensures stability and optimal healing for the fractures.
Dr. Nahida Dar expressed satisfaction with the surgery’s outcome, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the medical team and the support provided under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
She emphasized the scheme’s significance in ensuring that every individual, regardless of their financial background, has access to essential healthcare services.
