Global Hindu Thought Leaders Conference supports abrogation of Art 370 & 35A

JAMMU, Oct 20: The two-day Global Hindu Thought Leaders Conference concluded at Kochi in Kerala today. It was attended by international delegates from various countries and delegates from various states of India. The conference which was sponsored jointly by the World Hindu Federation, Nepal and Global Hindu Federation, UK, was inaugurated by an Adivasi activist of Kerala, Ooru Sri Raghawan.
It was presided over by Pradip Kukreja from Kuala Lumpur, chairman of GHF and the acting president of WHF, Pramod Chorasia, Kathmandu guided the conference. Radhakrishnan Muruthur, President of World Hindu Parliament welcomed the delegates on behalf of the organisers.
Justice (Retd.) M. Ramachandran was the chief guest and the State general secretary of VHP, S. Venkateshwaran was the special guest. The President of State BJP, Sridharan Pillai also attended the first session of the conference.
A five-member delegation led by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, BJP State spokesperson on Kashmir Affairs attended the Conference at Kochi. The other members of the delegation included Kulbhushan Mahotra, Incharge-Nanaji Deshmukh Documentation Cell and Library, BJP headquarters-Jammu, Dr. Nidhi Tikku Mitra, Chairperson-Daughters of Panun Kashmir and Ananya Mitra, youth activist in Delhi.
The conference adopted a 9-point Resolution with a declaration to organise the next Global Hindu Thought Leaders Conference at Srinagar-Kashmir in the year 2020. Besides other points, the delegates unanimously welcomed and supported the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution and congratulated and complimented the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for the swift corrective action in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his speech on the occasion said that the Hindu society which forms more than 15% of the world population requires an international narrative advocacy on issues concerning them. He made an elaborate presentation on the human rights violations committed against the Hindu populace in various countries of the world over the past one hundred years. He said that time has come to raise issues, get counted on international forums and establish an International Hindu Human Rights Advocacy Forum. His suggestion was included as one of the points in the formal resolution on this context.
Chrungoo referred to the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits and assured their resettlement in the Valley as per their geo-political aspirations after the situation is normal in the Valley. The issue of temples and shrines is also prelude to the resettlement of the Hindus of Kashmir in the Valley.
Books “A saga of sacrifices: Praja Parishad Movement in J&K”, “The Infidel Next Door by Rajat Mitra” and “Terrorism in J&K: A Historic Perspective” were presented by Kulbhushan Mahotra, Dr. Nidhi Tikku Mitra and Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo to the dignitaries on the occasion.
