JAMMU, Oct 20: A meeting of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation, under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh was held here today under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Thakur, State President and Rattan Sharma, State General Secretary.
The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the burning issues of the teaching fraternity, which include the non payment of salary of head teachers, their pending salaries for the months of Feb and March 2018 and also DA arrears /Seventh Pay Commission arrears, non clearance of time bound promotion cases of Masters, improper updation of seniority list of PG teachers in various desciplines and no DPC of teachers since long.
During the meeting, all the members said that the Masters working as Head Teachers in upper primary schools are not paid their salary regularly and informed that their salary for the months of February and March 2018 is still pending and also their DA/ Seventh Pay Commission arrears are also not paid to them till date . Moreover all the Teachers working under NPS scheme also not paid their salary for the last two months, they said and alleged that the concerned authorities are not paying heed to their demands.
The Federation also alleged that the time bound promotion cases of Masters are also not being cleared by the authorities since long due to the reasons best known to the concerned authorities. “It is for the first time in the history of School Education Department that DPC of teachers as Masters is not held for the last more than five years . There is a provision in the rules for the conduct of DPC of every cadre twice a year but it a mockery towards the educated teaching fraternity,” the meet said .
During the meeting, it was also said that the seniority lists of PG Masters/Teachers in various disciplines were not updated properly because of non submission of service particulars by the concerned DDOs/CEOs timely to the higher authorities.
Those who were present in the meeting, included Rattan Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Shiv Dev Singh, Manjeet Singh, Kartar Chand , Radha Krishan , Darshan Bharti, Neeraj Sharma, Dr Khem Raj and others.
