JAMMU, July 15: The civilians who were injured today in cross border firing when Pakistan Rangers fired small and heavy arms including mortars in the bordering hamlets of Pargwal sector of this winter capital, have advocated a strong reply to Pakistan in the language it understands.
“Pakistan has become habitual of disturbing peace in the border hamlets and that is why it resorts to unprovoked firing on civilians living in border areas of J&K time and again. Now, the time has come to teach Pakistan a lesson in the language which it understands. Therefore, we urge the Defence Minister of India to pass orders to our border security forces to give a strong reply to Pakistan so that it never dares to target civilians”, said Ramesh Lal (25) son of Ram Lal, a resident of Bhalwal Barth in Pargwal sector, who landed in Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu after getting wounded in the Pakistan’s unprovoked firing.
Ramesh said he along with his cousin was standing outside their house and making gossips when Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing. He said both of us bowed on the ground to save our lives but a mortar shell fell near them and one of its splinters hit and injured his one foot.
Another youth identified as Surinder Kumar (22) son of Babu Ram of village Bhalwal Barth, who also got injured when a splinter of a shell hit his one of the knees, also stressed for teaching Pakistan a strong lesson. He said Pakistan is a country which does not know the meaning of peace and tranquility because these words are perhaps not in its dictionary. “Pakistan understands only language of arms and it should be taught a lesson only in this language” he added.
Usha Devi (40), wife of Swarn Singh, a resident of Pargwal, who was also injured in the firing, said she is unable to believe that she is safe. Telling her tale of fear, she said that after completing regular household chores, she along with some other ladies of their neighbourhood was sitting in the yard of one of their neighbor and making gossips when a mortar shell fell on Poli Devi (42), one of the lady in the group, killing her on the spot and injuring her. She said it is like a 2nd life for him, as there was no scope of her surviving as she was sitting close to Poli Devi, who lost her life.
She said whenever India has extended the hand of friendship towards Pakistan the latter has stabbed on our back. “Today’s unprovoked firing from Pakistan side is a testimony to this fact and with this is it is very much clear that Pakistan can never be a friend of India”, she said and asserted that Pakistan be replied in a befitting manner.
