SAMBA, Sept 29: Giving a clarion call to promote the products produced and marketed in the country and shunning the affection towards foreign goods, BJP National Executive Member and former Minister, Priya Sethi today batted for giving first preference to vocal for local campaign envisaged by none other than Prime Minister, Narendra Modi himself to boost economy of the country.
The senior BJP leader was addressing a gathering after inaugurating Dogra Haat at Samba. Chander Prakash Ganga former Minister and DDC Chairman, Samba Keshav Sharma accompanied Priya Sethi during the inauguration of the Dogra Haat.
The Dogra Haat was organised by DDC Member, Shilpa Dubey in collaboration with JK Umeed NGO aiming at promoting the products manufactured by the local producers to give a stiff competition to their competitors hailing from outside.
Among others present included Amar Singh, district president, Narayan Singh and others.
Priya Sethi said that the aim of ‘Vocal for Local’ is to encourage small businesses in rural India, large corporations, MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises), and youth entrepreneurs at the grass-roots level by purchasing Indian goods and services, even though they are of lower quality than global products.
The former Minister said to make India shine, such initiatives are necessary and therefore not one, not two but all the people should join hands to promote this campaign to make India self-reliant and a member of the group of countries which are above the average in this era of cut throat competition.
Priya said that a small step in this direction can bring about a colossal change and drive the Indian economy to level next.
