SRINAGAR, Dec 16: A group of 30 girl students and two teachers of various Government schools of Srinagar returned from 10 day educational tour to Delhi, Agra and Gurgaon organised by Army’s Chinar Corps.
In their quest to enhance awareness towards the educational institutions, the rich cultural heritage and developmental activities in other parts of the country, the Army had organised this tour from December 5 to 15 for the youth of Kashmir. The students got a lifetime experience of visiting premier educational institutes like the Indian Institute of Technology, Jesus and Mary College, Miranda House, Delhi University and Maulana Azad Medical College. The students also got the chance to see the historical monuments like India Gate, Qutab Minar, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Lal Qila, Humayun’s Tomb, Rail Museum and Jantar Mantar at Delhi.
The highest point of the tour was when the young girls visited the Parliament, highest seat of democracy of our nation where they even attended a Lok Sabha session and also called on the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan. As part of interaction the tour members interacted with Pranab Mukherjee, President of India and Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Human Resource Development at Shastri Bhawan.
During their interaction with Lt Gen Satish Dua, Chinar Corps Commander the students expressed their desire to build further on this enriching experience which they got during the tour and also encourage others to get benefitted from such initiatives taken up by the Army.
Appreciating the zest for learningof the students, the Corps Commander reaffirmed the Army’s resolve to continue providing such avenues to the youth of Kashmir to explore new possibilities towards building a brighter future for themselves. He complimented the parents and elder of the children to afford them such an opportunity to be part of such enterprises.
