RAMBAN, Sept 2: A girl was killed, while three members of a family sustained injuries in head-on collision between alto car and a truck near Chambalwas area of tehsil Banihal.
As per police sources, an alto car bearing registration number JK02BA-3962 was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, when it was hit by a truck (JK03B-1004) coming from opposite direction at Chambalwas area of tehsil Banihal, resulting into injuries to four persons.
The occupants of the car were returning back to Jammu after appearing in the written exams to be conducted for the Kashmiri migrant youths under Prime Minister’s Employment Package.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where doctors pronounced Arti Bhat (21), daughter of Maharaj Krishan Bhat, a resident of Bantalab, Jammu as brought dead.
After first aid, three injured persons were referred to SHMS Hospital, Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Sarita Pandit, wife of Ramesh Kumar, her son Arun Pandit and her daughter Meenakshi Pandit, all residents of Chinore, Jammu.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Various organizations of Kashmiri Pandit community flayed the Government’s decision to conduct the written exams for the Kashmiri migrant youths under Prime Minister’s Employment Package at Srinagar.
