RAMBAN, June 4: A 20-year-old girl was killed and three others got injured, when the Alto car they were traveling in, skidded off the road and landed into a deep gorge near Rattanbass in tehsil Banihal, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK01W-1229 way on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve and the vehicle plunged into 250 feet deep gorge near Rattanbass on Jammu-Srinagar national Highway.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the four injured persons to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where doctors announced one of them as brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Faqya Bashir (20), daughter of Bashir of Bemina, Srinagar.
The injured identified as Owas Rashid (22), son of Abdul Rashid of Hyderpura, Srinagar, Tajamul Mehraj (24), son of Mehraj Din of Bemina, Srinagar and driver Fazal Bashir (25), son of Bashir Ahmad of Bemina, Srinagar, were responding to the treatment, when reports last came in.
A case in this regard has been registered and investigation started.
