MENDHAR, May 14: A young girl was injured after a pressure cooker exploded in the kitchen at village Salwa in Mendhar tehsil of district Poonch today.
Reports said the mishap took place when Shabnam Kouser, a student of BA Part-II and daughter of Rahim Dad of Salwa was cooking in the kitchen. She had also placed a pressure cooker on the gas stove. Suddenly, the cooker started leaking and it then exploded. While a 7-year old girl (relative) of Shabnam, who was also nearby, had miraculous escape, Shabnam was injured and shifted to local hospital at Mendhar. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
