JAMMU, Nov 23: A young girl allegedly committed suicide in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, an 18-year-old girl namely Nishika, daughter of Ramesh Singh, resident of Gho Manhasa, yesterday consumed some poisonous substance at her residence following which she was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
“However, the girl expired today at about 5.15 PM”, he said, adding body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem while Pounichak police had initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC in the case.
