UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: A young girl attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Balpur, Majalta.
The 20-year old Ashi Kumari (name changed) was found lying in a semi-unconscious state by the family members who shifted her to hospital. In view of her serious condition, she was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Cause behind the provocation could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian was injured after a rashly driven Maruti car hit him at Slathia Chowk, Udhampur. The injured, identified as Mulkh Raj, son of Amar Nath of Ramnagar, was shifted to hospital by some locals. His condition was stated to be stable.
