Gharana Birds Photo Exhibition inaugurated

JAMMU, Sept 10: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife)/Chief Wildlife Warden, J&K, Suresh Kumar Gupta, inaugurated Guldev Raj’s 3 day long Photo Exhibition on Gharana Birds at Kala Kendra, Jammu on Saturday,organized by The Himalayan Avian in collaboration with Department of J&K Wildlife Protection and J&K Information and Public Relations Department, Jammu.
200 photographs concerning with Gharana birds were displayed which have been clicked by Guldev Raj from the year 2005 to May 2022. Photos of different species of birds in different postures caught everyone’s attention.
Rare birds long tailed duck, Greater white fronted Geese, red napped ibis,Black-headed ibis, Glossy ibis, wholly necked stork, Great egret, Demosille crane, Spoon bill, Painted stork are the main attraction of this exhibition.
In addition to migratory birds, the vegetation growing in the wetland was better shown in the photographs.
Chief Wildlife Warden Jammu and Kashmir Suresh Kumar Gupta appreciated the work of Guldev Raj and said that this exhibition will enhance the knowledge of the people as it gives a detailed description of the birds visiting the wetland.
Students will get to learn a lot in this exhibition. Social worker Darshan Mehra, former Deputy Director of Agriculture Department, CM Sharma, former Joint Director Ram Lal Bhagat, Warden Anil Attri, Pankaj Chandan and Rishi Paul also expressed their views on the occasion.
