SAMBA, Apr 3: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, Samba police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing five bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal laid a strong vehicle checking naka at Malani-Ghagwal, link road and while checking it intercepted a Mahindra vehicle having Registration Number JK21F-9251 which was coming via border road Kathua. The driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle and abandoned it at few meters away from the naka and managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 83/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
