Ghagwal police rescues 4 bovines, seizes vehicle

SAMBA, Feb 3: District police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information, a police party of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal laid a surprise check point near Railway Fatak, Ghagwal and during checking signalled an Auto Load Carrier bearing Registration Number JKO8J /9553 to stop. The driver did not stop and crossed the Naka Point.
The police naka party chased the vehicle but before it intercepted the vehicle, the driver managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness leaving vehicle few meters away from Naka point.
During checking of the vehicle, four cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. The cattle were concealed in a tactful manner beneath the sacks of cattle feed to avoid being noticed by the police.
All the cattle were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transportation of bovines was also seized on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 17/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
