SAMBA, Sept, 22: District police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four animals and seized a vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.

Acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal at Naka Tapyal, Ghagwal NHW intercepted one Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Registration Number JK02AU/6818 for checking.
During checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found which were tied in a cruel manner and were transported without any permission.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 138/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
