Ghagwal Police rescues 19 bovine animals

SAMBA, Mar 19: Ghagwal Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 19 bovines at Tapyal naka early this morning.
A police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector, Amit Andotra, SHO Ghagwal under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during naka checking at NHW Tapyal signalled a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AH-6881 coming from Kathua side to stop. On seeing the police party, driver instead of stopping accelerated the speed of the vehicle and when police chased it he abandoned the vehicle near NHW Jatwal and fled away from the spot.
During the checking of the vehicle, 19 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and vehicle seized on spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 50/2018 under Section 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 177/184 MV Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation is going on to nab the driver.
The drive against the bovine smuggling has been launched by district police Samba under the directions of  Anil Magotra, SSP Samba.
