JAMMU, Aug 21: A delegation of Gojri Falahi Sangat (GFS), J&K, today met Director, Doordarshan Jammu, Anjali Sharma, and urged her to telecast Gojri programmes and Gojri news bulletin.
The delegation also met Incharge, News Unit, Doordarshan Jammu, Sanjeet Khajuria. The delegation members stressed upon both the officials of Doordarshan Jammu to telecast at least a Gojri Programme and a Gojri News Bulletin on daily basis, which has been a long pending demand of Gujjar community of Jammu region.
“Gujjar’s are an important section with distinct language and culture and Jammu has a sizeable population of this section,” said vice-president of Gojri Falahi Sangat, Hussain Mohd Choudhary, adding that their rich culture should be promoted.
The Director and Incharge News Unit, Doordarshan Jammu, assured the delegation that they will soon take a positive step in this regard.
