1st Maharaja Ranjit Singh Jr Hockey Gold Cup gets underway

JAMMU, Aug 21: The 1st Maharaja Ranjit Singh Jr Hockey Gold Cup, organized by Young Star Hockey Club Simbal Camp, under the aegis of Hockey J&K got underway here today.
The first match of the tournament was played between Singh Club Bandhu Rakh and Siti Club, which was won by former by (3-1) goals, while the second match was played between Zorawar Club Satwari and Army Public School Miran Sahib, wherein Zorawar Club emerged winner.
Col MD Bal was the chief guest on the occasion, while Natar Bhandari, Taxation Advisor was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Romal Singh, general secretary Hockey J&K and MS Reen joint secretary.
The other officials included Manjeet Singh, Daljeet Singh Bhatia, Charanjeet Singh, PP Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Navjeet Singh, Parshotam Lal and Charanjeet Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Rising Club Hira Nagar will take on Young Star Club Simbal Camp and Baba Banda Hockey Club Poonch will face Hira Nagar Hockey Club.
