JAMMU, Apr 26: PM’s Jammu visit proved a mere political function of BJP with general masses feeling betrayed and demoralized.
This was stated by Harsh Dev Singh, former Minister while leading a protest of youth and civil society members here today wherein the protesters flayed the alleged forced participation of Government employees in the rally through coercive apparatus of the State.
“The politicization of bureaucracy was known to exist earlier too but politicization of lower rung employees was a new norm in the political narrative scripted by BJP giving deadliest blow to democracy,” Harsh Dev said.
He said that unemployed youth, DRWs, contractual employees etc were once again taken for a ride with the organizers of the rally summoning them for participation but failing to get their concerns addressed.
Singh also said that there was not a word by PM about restoration of Statehood or holding of Assembly elections in J&K.
“Hundreds of millions of rupees were spent on the rally out of tax-payers’ money which saw only saffron flags all over explicitly indicating that it was a show of the saffron brigade,” he maintained.
