JAIPUR, July 15: Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot today laid the foundation stone of 4,101 road development works in 232 urban bodies in the State through video conference from his residence here.
Addressing the people during the foundation laying function, Gehlot said a strong road network plays an important role in the progress of any state. He said this year, tribal and desert areas with a population of more than 250 and other areas with population of more than 350 as per the census-2011, are being linked with roads.
The Chief Minister directed the officers of the concerned department to complete the work on time along with maintaining the quality of the roads. He said there should be no compromise in the quality of the construction works.
Gehlot said that Rajasthan is becoming a model state in the road network. “The State is witnessing all round development in every sector including roads, education, medical, employment, agriculture, water, electricity and industry. The State Government is committed to its vision to include Rajasthan in the leading states of the country by the year 2030,” he asserted.
He said that special attention is being paid on the construction of roads along with preventing road accidents. “After identifying 1548 black spots in the State, 1365 have been fixed. Along with the inspection by the experts, now the responsibility of the company making the roads has been made for 5 years. Besides this, Rs 55 crore has been approved for the Centre of Excellence for Road and Building Construction in Jaipur,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that to provide relief from the increasing inflation in the country, the State Government started Mehangai Rahat (Inflation Relief) camps in the entire state. More than 1.79 crore families have registered themselves in these camps and have received more than 7.60 crore guarantee cards. These families have started getting relief in 10 schemes including in medical, employment, social security pension and electricity.
