SRINAGAR, July 2: Chairman of hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, today threatened mass agitation in Kashmir valley if the Government of India does not drop its plan of rehabilitating the migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the safe zones.
While addressing a press conference here this morning, Geelani said Kashmiri Pandits are welcome to their homes but not in the settlements as proposed by the Government of India.
Geelani alleged that New Delhi has embarked upon a plan to change the demography of the Valley. Geelani said that New Delhi is seeking the help of Israeli intelligence agency in this respect. “Kashmiris won’t allow any change in demographic character of this place”, he added.
“The recent announcement of Government of India to rehabilitate the migrant Kashmiri Pandits in specific safe zones is a ploy to change the demography of Kashmir. This plan has been hatched to settle non-state subjects in Kashmir more so those who owe allegiance to RSS and Sangh Parivar. The State Government has given its go ahead and preparations have already begun,” said Geelani.
He said that the migrant Kashmiri Pandits are welcome to Kashmir valley and that they should live at their ancestral places. He said that their settlement at the settlement colonies would not be welcomed by the people of Kashmir. He said some of the migrants have already voiced their concern over the Government proposal of setting up the re-settlement colonies.
“If the settlement colonies come up in the Kashmir valley then a State within a State would be formed. This would lead to civil war and one cannot rule out the dangerous consequences in the future. New Delhi is in constant touch with Israel in this context and services of Mossad are also being availed for this purpose,” said Geelani.
He alleged that the people who are rehabilitated in the settlement colonies would be armed with weapons so that the ‘resistance’ movement being carried out by the separatists is given a bad name. He said the settlement colonies would come up as safe havens for the conspirators thus leading to large scale confusion among the people living in Kashmir.
