GCPF highlights problems confronting people

JAMMU, Feb 25: General Category Peoples’ Forum (GCPF) -Jammu today organized a meeting under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, Chairman of the Forum and highlighted various problems confronting the people.
Addressing the meeting, Yash Paul Sanson president of Forum made a vociferous appeal to Government of India for the removal of partial, bias, prejudice and discriminatory ill-treatment meted to the general category people who are at the receiving end of socio-economic welfare schemes launched by the Government.
He lashed out the Government for failing to end caste and class discrimination. He said that present Government has set all records of committing atrocities on people and taking anti-people decisions of imposing series of taxes, like toll plazas, water and electricity-taxes, hike in fares, property tax plus steep increase in petrol, diesel and gas prices which increased the problems and difficulties of common man.
Som Nath Sharma (general secretary) sought immediate measures to mitigate the problems of the people. He demanded that all kinds of welfare schemes and subsidies be stopped to lessen the burden of taxes on the poor and middle class.
