42 cases settled in Lok Adalat

JAMMU, Feb 25: A Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex, Janipur under the chairmanship of Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu, and under the overall supervision of Naushad Ahmed Khan, Secretary District Legal Services Authority.
A total three benches were constituted. The first bench, presided over by Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu, and assisted by R.S. Jasrotia, Presiding Officer, MACT Jammu, dealt with MACT cases.
The second bench, comprising Nighat Sultana, Addl. District Judge, Bank Cases, Jammu, Y.P. Kotwal, 1st Addl. District & Sessions Judge and Naushad Ahmed Khan, Secretary, DLSA, Jammu, which dealt with Bank Cases.
The third bench was presided over by Sandeep Gandotra, Special Mobile Magistrate, Passenger Tax, Jammu and assisted by Urvashi Raina, Munsif Jammu and Smriti Sharma, Sub-Registrar ,Jammu, dealt with Criminal Compoundable and other civil cases.
A total 117 cases were taken up, out of which 42 cases were decided. A total amount of Rs. 4,24,46,123 was settled in the Lok Adalat.
