JAMMU, June 1: General Category People’s Forum (GCPF) in a meeting chaired by Raj Kumar Banathia, Forum Chairman discussed discrimination being done by the Government with general category people in all fields.
The Forum hailed the decision of winding up of State Backward Classes Commission calling it “a white elephant which did nothing but became a cause of hatred and separation among different classes.”
Speaking in the meeting Yash Paul Sharma, Forum president expressed concerns over the constitution of Jammu Kashmir Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Commission and said that today socially and educationally backward families are everywhere and in every caste.
He urged that the economically backward families should be provided special help through special support measures instead of dividing people in the name of areas and classes.
Sharma demanded 50 per cent cut in electricity and water bill and full fee concession to the students for lockdown period.
Som Nath Sharma, Forum General Secretary was also present in the meeting.
