JAMMU, Sept 24: Students and staff of Government College of Education Jammu today visited Balgran (Orphanage Residential School) at Channi Rama and conducted various activities to generate awareness on various important aspects among the inmates.
More than 50 students along with Principal of the College Prof Aekta Gupta and NSS Programme Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal and other staff members namely Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof Sarita Dogra and Prof Seema Kumari educated the inmates of Balgran about their rights and distributed stationery items, fruits and other gifts to make the inmates feel special.
The students also played various games with the inmates of Balgran while as staff of the Government College of Education even judged a competition which was held in the residential school. The noble cause of College spread smiles and happiness among less privileged children.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof Aekta Gupta highlighted the importance of selfless service and appealed to the volunteers and students to engage themselves in constructive social work and to enrich their personality.
Principal Balgran Urmil Arora and Vice Principal Sadhana Kachroo appreciated the Government College of Education for deputing students and staff to spend time with the inmates of Balgran.
