DODA, Oct 7: Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Doda celebrated annual day with pomp and show, here today.
MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar was the chief guest on the occasion, while DC Doda Bhawani Rakwal, SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir, ACR Doda Tariq Naik, 2IC-10 RR, District Administration officers and scores of populace including parents of the students were also present.
The function began with the lighting of the lamp by the MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar and other dignitaries.
Principal of the school, Tanveer Ahmed Wani delivered the welcomed address followed by the presentation of annual report to highlight the achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities and also presented his vision for the progress of the school. He also assured the parents and management that he will leave no stone unturned to take the school to the greater heights in the future.
On the occasion, students showcased their talent with impressive items like Qawalli, Comedy, skits, Gojri song and dance, Himachali dance and Bhangra dance, which were highly applauded by the audience.
Later, MLA along with dignitaries also distributed awards to the meritorious students who had excelled in academics and various competitions. MLA also awarded teachers and lecturers.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Om Prakash, Master, Jaffer Hussain, Lecturer and Zaffer, Master.
In the end, the vote of thanks was presented by Senior Lecturer Rehamtullah.
