JAMMU, June 19: Newly established Department of Gastroenterology in Super Specialty Hospital of Jammu has been made fully functional, HoD Gastroenterology Dr Shokt Chowdhary announced today.
He said the department has started doing Endoscopies thrice a week for elective/appointed patients and emergency endoscopies 24×7 on need basis for the first time in Jammu.
The OPD days have been fixed as Thursday and Fridays. In addition to it, specialized gastroenterology consultations are available from other specialties in needful basis round-the-clock.
“With newly established department made fully functional, the waiting time as well as getting these Endoscopies done from outside have significantly decreased,” Dr Shokt, who has surrendered his summer vacations to make the department fully functional, said.
Dr Shokt said the department would render best possible gastroenterology facilities to the people under the guidance of Health and Medical Education Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din and GMC Principal Dr Ganshyam Dev Gupta.
