Gang involved in manufacturing Desi liquor busted

RAJOURI, July 10: The police busted a gang involved in illegal manufacturing of Desi liquor and unearthed working still and distillation unit being run in a forest area of Rajouri.
Police said that a team of police headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus, Ashish Choudhary during routine patrolling in Batalla Top Falli forest area, noticed some men moving under mysterious conditions.
On seeing police party, the men present there escaped from the spot and on searching the area, working still was smashed which was being run to prepare `Desi’ liquor.
The police team unearthed working still comprising of liquor producing unit, distillation unit, utensils.
Eight litres of freshly manufactured liquor and around 500 litres of Lahaan was recovered from the spot and later destroyed.
Police further said that two accused have so far been identified who were running the still and manhunt is going on to nab them while case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Oolice Station Rajouri.
