JAMMU, May 1: Ganesh Chaturdashi (Gan Choudha) was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety. In this connection religious func tions and Maha Yagyas were solemnized by different religious organizations.
In a vibrant display of faith and communal harmony on the occasion Maha Ganesh Asthapan Committee (MGAC) Brantal, Sirru, Pattan, Baramulla, solemnly observed its annual Yagya at Durga Mandir, Durga Nagar, here today, drawing thousands of devotees in a sea of devotion.
The sacred event saw an overwhelming turnout from the Sirru Biradari.
Meanwhile, several families from Village Sirru gathered today at the ancestral Maha Ganesh Asthapan premises, prepared traditional Tahaer, and sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
The function was held under the diligent oversight of PL Pandita, Hriday Nath Bhat, Rattan Lal Dhar and others.
The annual Hawan of Maha Ganesh Ji was solemnised on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturdashi (Gan Choudha) on 30th April and May 1 at Lower Muthi Jammu on the premises of Ganesh temple.
The Hawan concluded on First May at 12.30 PM. After Purnahuti, Prasad was distributed among the devotees. A large number of people were present on the occasion. The Hawan was performed for the peace and prosperity of the humanity. Devotees paid obeisance to Lord Ganesh and sought the blessings of Veganhartar (Removal of obstacles).The learned Pandit from Uttarakhand was the Brahmin who performed all Vedic rituals of the Hawan. The Hawan was organised and performed under the guidance of the chairman of the MGCF Hanand Chawalgam (Lower Muthi) Jammu, Prof. O.N. Koul.
Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Check Raj Wali (Vessu) celebrated the annual auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturdashi Havan with great religious fervour and devotion at Muthi. Prayers were organised to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
A large number of devotees, members of the Sabha and village residents participated in the religious function with enthusiasm and devotion.
Speaking on the occasion, members of the Sabha highlighted the spiritual and cultural importance of Ganesh Chaturdashi.
The atmosphere was filled with devotion as bhajans and religious hymns were recited during the event.
