JAMMU, May 3: Pounichak police apart from performing his legitimate duties during the ongoing lockdown in wake of COVID-19 pandemic has busted a gambling den with the arrest of 5 persons along with Rs 43,000 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pounichak Police Post conducted raid in Udheywala area and busted a gambling den with the arrest of 5 persons along with Rs 43,000 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as Neeraj Dogra alias Danny, son of Ashok Kumar of Purani Mandi, Pawan Kumar, son of Nathu ram of Anand Nagar, Anish Kumar, son of Jugal Kishore of Udheywala, Rahul, son of Krishan Lal of Anand Nagar and Arun Sharma, son of Om Prakash of Kanak Mandi.
A case under FIR Number 102 /2020 under section 188 IPC and 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Pounichak SI Varuneshwar Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh.
