JAMMU, Aug 28: MLA R S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat today kick-started several developmental works in R.S Pura Constituency,
Starting the tour from village Chohala, Dr Bhagat took a round of the village and interacted with the locals who apprised him about some important issues regarding safe drinking water, which was a big concern of the area.
Dr Bhagat assured them that very soon he will release the amount from his CDF if the department fails to do so. Later on construction of lane & drain work was started. On the occasion the local public also raised the issue of ration anomalies. Dr Gagan assured them that the issue was already under his consideration and the concerned officials have been issued direction to rectify the shortcomings within minimum time frame.
The lane and drainage system was the longest pending demand of the locals, they said that very particular lane and drain was in dilapidated condition for past several years, and the previous regime did nothing except assurances. Dr Gagan while addressing the gathering said that, he will surely keep his poll promises.
He further added that the developmental works which received a small brake, due to ongoing rainy season in the State will be taken up in hand on war footing. Later on while touring Chak Bhaktawar village a public meeting was organized ,in which he assured that he will complete all the pending works especially the link road of the village. He said work will be started within few months .
At an another function organized at village Mamka, Dr Gagan started the work of replacing the worn out conductors, upgradation of distribution transformer and work of lane and drain. He said that the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narender Modi is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people especially those of the rural areas including health care facilities, drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, better drainage system and education. He said the Union Government has been providing liberal funding in this regard.
He said in this budget session Rs. 48,000 crore has been kept for the Rural Development Department so that rural areas get focused attention which was completely ignored by the successive regimes in the Centre previously.
