JAMMU, Apr 12 : Dy Chairman Legislative Council and National Conference leader from Mendhar Javed Rana (MLC) has said that police has registered FIR against former MLC and local PDP leader Mohd Rashid Qureshi, Nadeem Khan- Youth PDP leader and son of local MLA from PDP and some other party activists for instigating people, attack NC agents and creating violence in the area.
Addressing a press conference today, Mr Rana raised serious allegations against the PDP MLA, from Mendhar Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan, his son Nadeem Khan and former MLC, M R Qureshi and their men, for instigating people, crating violence and capturing three polling booths in Gursai area of Mendhar.
He said Ex-MLC, Qureshi, MLA’s son Nadeem Khan and some other people from the PDP party have been booked in case FIR No. 45/ 2014 under Sections 147/341/323 RPC.
The Dy Chairman further alleged that PDP cadre was indulging in violence out of frustration. He said MLA Mendhar Rafiq Hussain Khan and Qureshi were trying to politicize the current situation and divert people’s attention from the ground situation in the area. Out of their frustration, sensing defeat in polls, they are trying to indulge in violent actions and booth capturing.
Mr Rana further alleged that both Qureshi, Nadeem and some other party workers captured three polling stations on April 10 at Harooni (Gursai), Kot Masjid in Harni and Gursai Patti. The NC leader alleged that MLA’s sons were casting vote on behalf of general public. Two NC party agents were thrashed and made to flee. They were injured in the attack. Rana said he was not cared about FIR against him or his men but maintained that FIR No. 45 has been lodged against M R Qureshi and Nadeem Khan. “ Doodh Ka Doodh, Pani Ka Pani Sabke Samney Aa Jayega,” he added.
Referring to Kalaban incident, Dy Chairman said PDP had planted some people to divert attention to gain some sympathy before the next Assembly elections as they have nothing left to talk about. MLA and his men have created lawlessness and violence in the area. They were trying to instigate and mislead the people and action under law must be taken against them.
