Governor, CM greet people on Mahavir Jayanti

JAMMU, Apr 12: N N Vohra, Governor, has extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavira.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor described Lord Mahavira as an apostle of truth and righteousness. He said that the best way to observe such auspicious occasions is to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, amity, harmony and secular ethos for which Jammu and Kashmir has been known since centuries past.
The Governor prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has also felicitated people on Mahavir Jayanti wishing them happiness and prosperity.
In his greetings message on Mahavir Jayanti, Omar Abdullah said that State has a rich tradition of celebrating festivals and holy occasions in unity and amity. “All of us should contribute to further strengthen this trait”, he said, adding that these occasions provide us opportunity to fortify love bonds between one another and nurture communal harmony and brotherhood in the State.
The Chief Minister prayed for peace, prosperity and progress for the State and the country.
