JAMMU, Dec 23: Crime Branch Jammu charge-sheeted fraudulent Kashmiri migrant, Tehsildars and accused beneficiaries.
As per official spokesman, Crime Branch Jammu charge-sheeted Jai Kishori Koul, wife of late Bhushan Lal Koul of Vinayak Nagar Muthi, Jammu in a case registered under FIR Number 1/16 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC with Police Station Crime Branch, Jammu for getting migrant relief in both cash and kind fraudulently as a Kashmir Migrant when her husband was actually employed as a Central Government employee, thus causing loss to public exchequer.
Whistle-blower Avtar Krishan Bhat, son of Kanshi Nath Bhat of Om Vihar Vinayak Nagar, Sector-1 Extension Muthi, Jammu lodged a written complaint in Crime Branch Jammu, alleging that accused alongwith other members were living at Jammu much prior to the migration and the head of the family was an employee of MES and thus the family was not entitled for migrant relief and ration. However, the accused in connivance with the officials of the relief organization Jammu managed ‘fabricated migrant ration card’ and availed relief in the shape of both cash and kind, the spokesman added.
Crime Branch Jammu registered the instant case after allegations were prima-facie substantiated during the preliminary enquiry, spokesman said, adding that it has been established that husband of the accused was serving as a Central Government employee in MES while his wife (accused) was taking relief and ration from the office of Relief Commissioner Jammu.
Meanwhile, Crime Branch Jammu charge-sheeted Tehsildar Roshan Lal (the then Patwari) and Tehsildar Jai Kumar Sharma (Retd), the then Girdawar Qanoongo along with five others for manipulating revenue records on the complaint of a villager Joginder Singh, son of Khakhru of Kote, District Jammu.
The spokesman said that Police Station Crime Branch Jammu lodged a FIR under Section 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC and 5(2) P.C Act after thorough preliminary verification had substantiated the allegations.
During the course of investigation allegations were proved against the accused revenue officers which was also substantiated by forensic tests, spokesman said, adding that the conspiracy was hatched along with Parma Nand (now expired), son of Agya Ram, Ramesh Chander, son of Daulat Ram, Rakesh Kumar alias Bittu, son of Shanker Dass, Bihari Lal, son of Shanker Dass and Bal Krishenalias Phumani, son of Shanker Dass, all resident of Kote District Jammu to manipulate the revenue records of 34 kanals of land at Kot-Bhalwal in order to grab the prime piece of land and debar the complainant and his poor family from their rightful possession of the result of Land Reforms Act in terms of Girdawari of 1971.
The charge-sheet has been produced against all the six accused in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu today, the spokesman said, adding that another case under FIR Number 18/05 under Section 147 and 447 RPC was registered at Police Station Gharota by accused party to restrain the entry of rightful claimant into land. Court has decided the matter in favour of Joginder Singh, the spokesman informed.
