RAMBAN, May 26: Police here today under the supervision of SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar foiled bovine smuggling bids and registered four cases, arrested four bovine smugglers, rescued 52 bovines and seized four vehicles involved in the crime.
Cops from Police Station Batote intercepted a vehicle and during its checking found 17 bovines loaded inside in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally to Kashmir. One person was arrested in this regard.
In another instance, cops from Police Station Banihal intercepted three vehicles and during their checking found 35 bovines loaded in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally towards Kashmir. Three persons were arrested in this regard.
In these cases FIR with number 75/2024 was registered at Police Station Batote, with number 83/2024, 84/2024 and 86/2024 at Police Station Banihal under relevant Sections of law.
Four vehicles involved in the crime were seized and investigation has been initiated into these cases.
