Jammu, Jan 17: Police here today arrested four persons for narcotics smuggling and recovered 19.5 gram heroin from them.
Police sources informed that 5 gram heroin was recovered by cops at Deoli checking point, 4.50 gram at Kullian and 10 gram from areas under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Bishnah, Miran Sahib and Bahu Fort.
A team of Police Station Bishnah under the supervision of SDPO R.S Pura, Surinder Singh led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Vikram Sharma rounded up a suspect Atul Kumar Gupta alias Tinku, son of Ramesh Kumar resident of Nanak Nagar Jammu at Deoli checking point.
During his search five gram Heroin was recovered and a case in FIR No. 17/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah and the narcotic smuggler was arrested.
Similarly a special Naka was laid by cops of Police Station Miran Sahib under the supervision of SDPO R.S Pura, Surinder Singh and led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mustaq wherein cops rounded up one Shakeel Ahmed son of Mohd Mussa resident of Rattian, R.S Pura.
During his search, 4.50 gram Heroin was recovered and a case in FIR No. 13/2013 U/S 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and the narcotic smuggler was arrested.
At another Naka in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bahu Fort cops rounded up two suspects on their vehicle bearing registration no. JK02CW 5193 coming from Sunjwan Morh and moving towards Vidatha Nagar.
During their search 10 gram Heroin was recovered and a case in FIR No. 24 U/S 8/21/22 /29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort against narcotic smugglers Yugraj Singh son of Chain Singh resident of Narwal and Pradeep Gupta son of Ashwani Gupta resident of Kasim Nagar Jammu who were arrested.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made by SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Nayat Ali assisted by I/C PP Bathindi PSI Mohd Sayaf Khan under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
