JAMMU, Aug 19: A four day multi-lingual mushaira Jashn-e-Azadi-2014 was orgainsed by J&K Acedamy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with PG Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, today.
Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest inaugurated the event. Prof Chanchal Dogra, prominent Hindi writer presided over the function. Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, Head of PG, Department of Hindi, University of Jammu and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu were also present in the Presidium.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu appreciated roll of the Acedamy in organizing the four day literary function with an aim to provide the platform to the new generation for their all round development. He further said that new initiative by the Academy celebrating Jashn-e-Azadi 2014 will inculcate a sense of patriotism and will also provide them platform to display their telent.
While delivering presidential address, Prof Chanchal Dogra thanked the Academy for orgainsing mushairas on the eve of Independence Day and hoped that Acedamy will take it up with enthusiasm in near future also.
Earlier delivering welcome address, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Addiotional Secretary of Cultural Acedamy said Jashn-e-Azadi is being celebrated by holding Mushairas in different languages like Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Urdu, Gojri and Pahari.
The Poet who recited theie poems include Dr Chanchal Dogra, Dr Jitender Udampuri, Dr Nirmal Vinod, Dr Aruna Sharma, Krishana Gupta, Sanjeev Bhasin, Sunil Sharma, Kamal Jeet Choudhary among others.
