POONCH, Oct 10: Hanuman Mandir Committee, Mendhar today uprooted the foundation stone laid by National Conference president, Dr Farooq Abdullah in presence of the then local Legislator Javed Rana for the construction of a Yatri Sarai in the temple complex which was never constructed till date.
There was anger among the local minority community members against the NC and the then local MLC for befooling them by laying a foundation stone to woo minority voters. This stone-plate was raised at the site identified for the construction of Yatris Bhawan in the temple complex on June 15, 2013 and local National Conference leader Javed Ahmed Rana was MLC at that time.
Dr Farooq Abdullah visited Mendhar and during his visit, he announced the construction of Yatri Bhawan in the famous Hanuman temple of Mendhar under CD Fund in presence of MLC. Till now, the Yatri Bhawan has not been built for public use there.
Annoyed over the attitude of NC leaders, Hanuman Mandir Committee today thrown down the foundation stone/plate of Dr Farooq Abdullah and the then MLC Javed Rana.
Temple priest-Baba Karan Ji, Davinder Tandon and Satish Sharma members of the Management Committee accused Javed Rana and NC president, Dr Farooq Abdullah of befooling minority community people for the last eight years. They said the committee would raise funds by seeking donations and construct this Yatri Bhawan at its own.
