Former PDP MLC, Retd CE, businessmen figure in new lists

JAMMU, Dec 5: Name of another leader of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who is former member of the Legislative Council and a retired Chief Engineer figured in more lists released by the administration on encroachments on the State land.
PDP leader and former MLC Haji Nizam Din has encroached upon seven kanals and five marlas land at Sunjwan on outskirts of Jammu City while three kanals land has been grabbed by Ali Timber Sale Depot and Saw Mill in the same locality.
Retired Chief Engineer GM Bhat has encroached State land other than Roshni to the tune of three kanals at Sunjwan for residential purposes while Jamat Ali, Anayat Ali and Saleem, all brothers and sons of Lab Din, who happened to be Lambardar and businessmen have encroached eight kanals and four marlas land at Sunjwan for residential purposes.
During the past few days, the administration has come out with series of lists carrying names of prominent political leaders of National Conference, PDP, Congress and Apni Party, leading businessmen, former bureaucrats, serving police and civil officers among others who have either regularized their land under Roshni Scheme or encroached upon the State/Forest land.
The lists released today carried names of more businessmen who have regularized their land under Roshni or who have encroached the State land.
Businessman Karan Singh of Pargwal in Akhnoor tehsil has got 17 kanals 10 marlas of land regularized at Najwal for Rs 1740 while a Government employee Krishan Singh along with his brother hailing from Bhalwal Mulo in Pargwal got regularized 46 kanals and 14 marlas land at Bhalwal Mulo. Another businessman Jai Singh and his two brothers got regularized 35 kanals and 15 marlas land at Bhalwal Mulo in Pargwal for just Rs 720.
One Lal Singh has encroached 10 kanals and two marlas land at Rakh Mangal in Bishnah tehsil.
A Nambardar Mohammad Aslam has encroached 25 kanals land in Poonch other than Roshni.
The lists released by the administration also named number of persons who were in possession of State land.
